Seriously, this is great stuff. You should help coach, even if you have no clue what you&#039;re doing (the dirty secret: the guys don&#039;t really know, either). As a coach, I always like to have at least one mom on staff because it reduces the chances that the other men are going to go caveman.

By the way, I would add to your advice that you can&#039;t assume that every coach is a knuckle-dragging, fire-breathing, vein-popping, halitosis-spewing nutcase. I have included, despite the great risk of self-promotion, I piece I wrote breaking down the type of coaches you&#039;ll find in youth sports. Success for you and your child is often predicated on making sure you identifying which kind of nitwit will be preparing your child grist for his or her future therapy sessions.
