Forgot to mention -- Dr. Lupo was able to successfully biopsy my tumor, and it was only 8 mm. And as you probably already know, thyroid nodules are very common, and 19 out of 20 of them are benign. Keep us posted.

Yuck, Katie. That sucks. My doctor is not anywhere near USF, but I would highly recommend Dr. Mark Lupo in Sarasota (www.thyroidflorida.com). He's an endocrinologist who specializes in thyroid issues. He answers thyroid-related questions for MedHelp.com, so he's comfortable with -- and respectful of -- patients doing their own research. He's kind and caring and will take time to answer all your questions, no matter how long it takes. He's got a great office staff, too. If you do go see him, tell him I sent ya! :) Wishing you the best.

I went to Dr. Morrison at USF after getting a recommendation from a doctor friend at the Mayo Hosp in Jax.

He talks to you, not at you. After much research and displeasure, I have a nodule on my thyroid they won't remove, however, after a trip to Philly and a second opinion at Fox Chase, was told Dr M was right.. You might want to check him out. Moffit was never an option for me, too many med mal cases...
