What the hell is wrong with President Obama?

Posted by Catherine on Apr 14, 2009 in Gun Control |

Did you hear? Obama is vowing to fight piracy.

“I want to be very clear that we are resolved to halt the rise of piracy in that region and to achieve that goal, we’re going to have to continue to work with our partners to prevent future attacks,” Obama said at a Washington news conference.

A fucking news conference over this.

Sea Pirates

Tainted Peanut Butter.

E-Coli Spinach.

A.I.G.

General Motors.

Steroids in Baseball.

Bernie Madoff.

Nothing on gun violence. It’s just not enough of a problem.

Jesus. Even Newsweek does everything but call him and his administration a bunch of pussies.

Seems the only folks doing anything is the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence. They are the only ones consistently calling on our elected officials to get their heads out of the sand and put a stop to it. Join them. Send out an email to your representative in Congress, or Obama himself, and volunteer to help spread the word.

For the love of Pete, people. Do something.

I liked Obama’s response to the pirates. Shoot the fuckers.

Face it, at this point in his administration he is only doing things that he can win with consensus.
He has done little on any of the criminality that happened under the previous administration of “he that shall not be named”.

No US Attorneys have been fired, no matter how corrupt (see Siegelman case/Alabama). Note: One of the people convicted by the corrupt US Attorney in Alabama, Paul Minor was denied a furlough to visit with his dying wife even though his conviction is likely to be overturned. Sylvia Minor died yesterday.

    But Sen. Stevens has walked.

Talk to the ACLU on how forthcoming his administration has been…

note to John in IL: Shooting crooks is easy, especially poor teenagers. Convicting the politically connected and wealthy is hard.

    Campaign finance reform?
    Card check?

I guess it is too early to really judge this Presidency, one that I traveled 1500 miles to work for weeks going door to door in Eastern Pasco county to get into office.

But it’s too late for Mrs. Minor.

Note to Mark on Cape: shoot the fuckers.

The U.S. Marines’ fight song references fighting African pirates “…to the shores of Tripoli”. It’s worth doing, but sure doesn’t seem like a centerpiece issue. Obama does seem like the “Anti-Bush”. Problem is, the antidote to epic arrogance isn’t always consensus with everybody. Complete consensus isn’t possible, because there are always winners and losers (or, John, “loosers”) in politics. Seems like Obama’s got a plan, I’m just not sure he’s sharing it with the rest of us yet.

John seems to get a chubby from saying “shoot the fuckers”.
This is real life, not some John Wayne movie. Even though it was probably necessary to kill the “pirates” to save the Capt., I’m not going to revel in some sort of blood lust orgasm over it. It was impressive shooting, but lives were ended. It’s serious shit to the people involved, including the Seals.

So, John, go to your room and rub one out to Clint Eastwood and save us from your crap.

I agree that President Obama did the right thing in talking about these issues. I’m fine with that. I simply wish he’d talk about gun violence. These killings have effected way more people than the other issues combined.

Someone ought to say it. Someone like our President.

  • John in IL says:

No, Mark, this is not real life. This is a comment on a blog. Learn the difference.

And sorry to distract from your original point, Kate.
