Supreme Court Justice Charles Wells is Out. Who’s In?

Florida Supreme Court Justice Charles Wells has decided to gracefully surrender the things of youth, take up crossword puzzles and start drinking during the day.

What? Isn’t that what everyone does during retirement or just my relatives?

Anyway, when Governor Charlie Crist isn’t contemplating a Senate run, he’s thinking about selecting Wells’ replacement. Dude has already appointed several right-wing nutjobs after giving in to social conservatives. Now groups like the American Family Association are itchin’ to get Judge Alan Lawson on the bench. They are trying to pressure Crist with calls, faxes, and emails urging him to appoint Judge Lawson like now.

Gay rights, freedom of choice, and a continued progressive path are important to the rest of us. We don’t want Florida to go backwards. So let’s contact the Guv’na and make our voices heard.
